At East Surrey Hospital, a dedicated bereavement room has been gently transformed thanks to donations made through East Surrey Hosptial Charity. The space is used by families experiencing the loss of a baby - a moment for which no words are ever enough.

One of the most meaningful additions to the room is a series of specially chosen artworks. Families have said that the calm, thoughtful imagery has helped them express emotions that are otherwise impossible to put into words. These pieces were funded entirely through charitable donations, and chosen in consultation with bereavement staff and families, to ensure they reflect the needs and feelings of the families who use the space.

As well as artwork, donations have supported wider improvements to the room itself. Comfortable furnishings, and small design changes have helped make the room feel less clinical, and more like a space where people can take time to begin to process what has happened.

This space has been transformed because of community support. If you would like to help continue this work, or support future projects that care for families at their most difficult time, you can donate at www.sashcharity.enthuse.com.

Every contribution helps those within our local communities when they need it most.
